Task before Studio Class 1

This is the last project that I did in UNSW foundation year (2018). It is basically a designer board which introduces Ross Lovegrove, who is a well-known English industrial designer. He is know as "Captain Organic" and his design philosophy could be describes as "fat-free" which is very interesting to me. I designed this board using Photoshop and Indesign and I considered Lovegrove's unique style (colors, layout, font and selection of his works).

This is the photo that I took in Kyoto three weeks ago during holidays. It was just a normal scene in this Japanese city but I found it beautiful. I actually took this photo using the app Nomo on iPhone because I think the filter enhances this photo well and is suitable for the peaceful atmosphere. I really liked the buildings on the street - they look very "Japanese" and are very different from buildings in my hometown Beijing.

This is a photo of The Crafts Museum in Hangzhou, China. It was designed by the well-known  Japanese architect Kengo Kuma whom I admired a lot. I actually visited it during the holidays but I could not find the photos that I took myself. This building blends in beautifully with the landscape - it integrates with the environment instead of dominate it, which shows the unique design philosophy of Kengo Kuma.
